Learning no longer looks like a pencil, paper and a pile of textbooks. Within the last twenty years,learners all over the world now equate textbook with google, paper and pens with wikis, lectures with youtube and group meetings with msn chat. The computer screen has literally become the window to the world and opened up endless opportunities to learning like never before.
Only six years ago I was studying a Bachelor of Education by Flex learning. A box of study books arrived on my doorstep at the beginning of each term. I thought I was on the cutting edge of technology because I used microsoft word and knew how to research by surfing the net. After a few years of work I re-entered the world of study only to find it completely unrecognisable. It was the first day of term and I had not received a single book in the mail. A phonecall informed me that everything I needed was now online and the tools of learning had changed.
That was when I realised that in the journey of eLearning you can never afford to stop learning... If you stop learning, you don't stand still- You fall behind... way behind.
